SANA'A June 09. 2024 (Saba) - The General Authority for Agricultural Research and Extension and the General Corporation for Coffee Development and Marketing announced the launch of a comprehensive study of the coffee value chain in a number of provinces.
The CEO of the Coffee Development Foundation, Manea Al-Asal, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the study includes field visits to a number of prominent provinces in coffee production, including Sana'a, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Sa'ada, Amran, and Dhamar.
He pointed out that the team was formed from a number of experts in the field of coffee cultivation, and experts in the field of using rural assessment tools, with the participation of a knight and an agricultural guide from each targeted area.
The head of the institution stated that data will be collected from traders, brokers and associations, in addition to sellers of inputs to cover all supply chains and determine the added values of the product. He indicated that this study will contribute to developing a comprehensive plan to strengthen value chains in this important national economic sector.
