SANTIAGO June 02. 2024 (Saba) - Chile will join South Africa in its lawsuit against Israel before the International Court of Justice, President Gabriel Buric said on Sunday.

In a speech to his country's Congress last night, Buric said "I have decided to support Chile and join the lawsuit filed by South Africa before the International Court of Justice, within the framework of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide."

In his speech, the Chilean president cited the "catastrophic humanitarian situation" in Gaza and called for a "firm response from the international community."

The Chilean government had condemned the Zionist enemy's massacre of the displaced persons' camp in Rafah, which caused a fire and left 45 Palestinian martyrs.
