SANA'A May 06. 2024 (Saba) - Parliament on Monday listened in its session, chaired by Speaker Yahya al-Rai', to the government's messages regarding the level of implementation by the Ministry of Transport and the General Authority of Civil Aviation of the recommendations of the Cabomet related to the authority.

The implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. 10 of 1445 AH regarding the implementation of the recommendations of the Parliment issued in the second parliamentary period of the second session of the eighteenth annual session.

The letters, read by the Minister of State for Parliamentary and Shura Council Affairs in the caretaker government, Ali Abu Halaiqa, included a matrix of measures implemented by the Commission with regard to the recommendations contained in the following reports:

- Report on the study of the visions and pillars contained in the national vision related to the transport and communications sectors.

- Report of the Transport and Communications Committee and the results of its field visit to the meteorological sector of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology.

Supplementary report on the damage and losses caused to the transport sector as a result of the brutal aggression against our country.

Abu Halaiqa called on the Minister of State to see and direct to understand this within the government procedures implemented by the authority.

The Parliament also listened to a message from the Minister of State regarding the level of implementation of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, from the recommendations contained in the report of the Water and Environment Committee on its field visit to the city of Hajjah to see the problem of lack of water and its high price.

Abu Halaiqa called for referring the issue with his priorities to the competent committee.

In the same context, the Parliament listened from the Minister of State to a message regarding the level of implementation of the recommendations of the Council concerning the Ministry of Fisheries, within the points to which the government committed in a previous session, represented in point No. (15) related to the Ministry on clarifying the measures taken regarding the repeated illegal violations to which Yemeni fishermen are subjected by the navy of the countries of aggression, their mercenaries and some neighboring countries.

The Minister of State demanded that this be referred to the relevant committee as part of the implemented government procedures.

The Cabinet heard the letter regarding the Board's recommendations to the Ministry of Justice.

The Parliament postponed discussion of the report to a future session in the presence of the relevant government side.

In a related context, the members of the Parliament reviewed the report of the Defense and Security Committee regarding the Ministry of Finance’s follow-up on the implementation of Parliament Recommendation No. (12) related to deducting 20 percent from the total revenues of the General Traffic Department, to be spent as an incentive for traffic policemen in the Municipality of the Capital and the governorates. The report concluded with a number of recommendations.

The Parliament had held an initial discussion about this, where the Chairman of the Parliament stressed the importance of expanding the recommendations to include preventing the use of the phone while driving, and emphasizing not to drive vehicles without a driver’s license, as well as the importance of adhering to wearing a seat belt and avoiding overloading, and what is related to obligating motorcycle drivers to adhere to the laws and rules and traffic instructions.

In the session, the Parliament heard from Vice Chairman of the Council, Abdulsalam Hashul a clarification regarding the importance of completing the discussion in the presence of the relevant government agencies, namely the Interior, Finance, Media, Education, Transport, Public Works, Roads, Youth, Sports, and other concerned agencies.

The Parliament decided to continue discussing the report in an upcoming session in the presence of the aforementioned parties.
