SANA'A April 24. 2024 (Saba) - The Presidency of the Parliament held an expanded meeting today, Wednesday, headed by the Speaker of the parliament and Chairman of the Board, Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i.
In the meeting, which included the heads and rapporteurs of the Council’s permanent committees and in the presence of a member of the Supreme Political Council, Member of the parliament Sultan Al Sami, and Secretary General of the parliament Abdullah Al Qasimi, the Commission discussed a number of topics on the Council’s agenda and took appropriate decisions regarding them.
In the meeting, the Parliament Speaker touched upon a number of procedures required by the current stage, stressing the importance of modernizing and developing the performance of the permanent committees in the Council based on the powers and tasks assigned to the Council in the Constitution, the applicable laws, and the Council’s internal regulations.
The Presidency of the parliament also stressed the need to enhance attendance at Council sessions to crystallize the issues on which the Council stands.
It noted the importance of everyone feeling responsible towards the issues of the homeland and citizens in general and their daily suffering throughout the provinces of the Republic, in order to overcome the effects and repercussions of the aggression and the siege, coinciding with the entry of the tenth year of national steadfastness in the face of the conspiracies hatched by the American-Western coalition against the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples, and to confront the brutal Zionist criminal acts.
The meeting pointed out that, despite the continued arrogance of the Zionist war criminals and the escalation of the attacks of the Zionist settlers against the Palestinians, the international community , the Arab and Islamic countries did not pay attention to these actions and did not take any action regarding the criminal acts targeting the Palestinians and the peoples of the region.
The Commission condemned the Arab and Islamic silence regarding the Zionist enemy’s continued commission of horrific massacres against the Palestinian people.
It called on the international community, with all its organizations , the Arab and Islamic countries, to review negative positions and calculations, move to stop the aggressive war, lift the stifling siege on Gaza Strip, and feel responsible for bringing in food and pharmaceutical supplies and saving the catastrophic situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian cities.
