RAMALLAH April 22. 2024 (Saba) - The number of arrest campaigns carried out by the Zionist enemy forces in the West Bank and al-Quds in conjunction with the start of their aggression against the Gaza Strip since October, 7,2023 has risen to 8,425. The Palestinian Authority for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club, and al-Dhamer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Palestinian Human Rights said in a joint statement on Monday that the total includes 280 women, 540 children, and 66 journalists, of whom 45 remain in detention, while 23 of them have been transferred to administrative detention. According to the statement, the arrest toll includes all those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, those who were held hostage, those who were kept in detention by the occupation, and those who were later released. It pointed out that the ongoing arrest campaigns were accompanied by escalating crimes and violations, acts of abuse, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction of homes, seizure of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry, in addition to widespread destruction operations that affected infrastructure, especially in Tulkarm and Jenin camps. The number of detainees in enemy prisons until the end of last March amounted to more than 9,500, including more than 3,660 administrative detainees, and 849 classified as “illegal combatants” from Gaza detainees, and this number is only available as a clear given from the Zionist enemy prison administration.
