KIEV April 22. 2024 (Saba) -The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced today that its navy bombed a rescue ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea and took it out of service.

"Today, the Ukrainian navy bombed the ship 'Komona' in Crimea," a ministry statement said.

The statement added that the Russian navy was using the ship to carry out deep-sea work, including lifting submarines and sunken cargo, and was one of the oldest ships in service.

Ukrainian navy spokesman Dmytro Plinchuk said it was not immediately clear how much damage had been done to the ship, which was "no longer able to perform its tasks."

Earlier, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvogaev said the Russian military had "repelled an attack with an anti-ship missile" against a ship in the port.
