Western media & Zionist aggression against Gaza...complete bias that undermines neutrality

SANA'A March 12. 2024 (Saba) - Over the past years, Western countries, led by America, have intended to use media propaganda to promote certain ideas to influence public opinion, and this propaganda is no less important than the war machine. However, the Zionist aggression on Gaza Strip alerted to the state of extreme bias practiced by the Western media machine against the Palestinians. The Western media has lost credibility and fallen into a deep pit by fabricating biased news, pictures, reports and interviews to justify the Zionist aggression.

As the Zionist aggression against Gaza continues unabated, the human tragedy continues, which Western media outlets are trying to cover up in various ways. In their biased coverage, these media outlets have adopted Zionist propaganda narratives and rhetoric, which has led to a clear loss of their credibility recently.

Accusations of bias in the Western media, especially towards the Zionist enemy entity, are still a recurring topic over various previous periods, but the Zionist aggression against Gaza and the accompanying massacres, extermination, siege and starvation against the Palestinians came to sweep away with it all standards of professionalism, freedom and objectivity that these edifices often sang about. For more than five months, the media has continued to ignore the genocide, massacres, and siege against civilians in the devastated Gaza Strip.

Critics argue that Western media often downplay or neglect Palestinian suffering, presenting an incomplete and biased narrative.

The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, Mustafa Barghouti, confirmed during an interview with the Turkish Anatolia news agency earlier that “the Western media’s coverage of the Gaza war reflects racism against the Palestinian and the Muslim,” pointing to what he called “an absolute Western media bias toward (Israel) that is based on fanaticism racism and repeating the Zionist narrative without any professional research.”

According to an Intercept analysis of major media coverage, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times coverage of the Zionist aggression on Gaza showed a consistent bias against the Palestinians.

Likewise, the print media, which plays an influential role in shaping American views on the Palestinian-Zionist conflict, paid little attention to the unprecedented impact of the Zionist blockade and bombing campaign on children and journalists in Gaza Strip.

At a time when Western governments have abandoned their responsibility to act to confront credible accounts of war crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, the masks have once again fallen from the double standards followed by the Western media, which claims to be platforms for freedom and democracy, by playing a biased role. Clearly in favor of the Zionist enemy entity (Israel), according to observers, which has greatly increased the spread of misinformation and dehumanization.

The Western media not only adopted the Zionist narrative about the details of the war, but also distanced itself from journalistic objectivity, as the destruction of Gaza and the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children, received only a small amount of coverage in the United States and other Western media. , whose dozens of correspondents cover the war from inside the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, while a few are on the ground to cover the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.

The Western media disproportionately highlighted Zionist deaths in the conflict by using emotional language to describe the killings of Zionists, while blatantly ignoring the killing of Palestinians, whom they dehumanized, considering their deaths so everyday and normal that journalists report them as if they were reporting news. Weather while those who dared to raise their voices against the loss of Palestinian civilian lives, call for a ceasefire, or appeal for essential aid to reach Gaza, were harshly branded as “anti-Semitism.”

News reports reveal Western media's deliberate disregard for all Palestinian things . One aspect of the bias is selective framing, as Western media choose specific angles or narratives that align with their biases or the prevailing political climate.

In the case of the recent brutal attack on Gaza, critics believe that the Western media tends to frame the conflict as a reaction to Al-Aqsa Flood operation carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, focusing on Zionist security concerns and marginalizing the root causes of the conflict, as well as ignoring the reaction.

The unprecedented crimes of genocide were committed in full view of the entire world.

Western media coverage marginalizes the views, experiences and grievances of Palestinians, as the lack of diverse narratives reinforces a one-sided understanding of the conflict, leading to misconceptions about root causes and potential solutions.

Critics also point out the Western media's tendency to humanize the Zionist dead while dehumanizing the Palestinian victims. By individualizing Zionist stories and presenting them in a more relatable way, the media may inadvertently contribute to creating a sympathy gap that reduces the seriousness of the situation.

As for the Palestinians, not only did these media outlets deviate sharply in their framing of the tragedy and ignored the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinians, but rather they deliberately spread misleading information, rooted in undocumented, contradictory, or false narratives, which had real humanitarian consequences for the Palestinians on the earth.

Throughout the conflict, Western media, including state-funded broadcasters such as the BBC and Germany's DW, and international media outlets such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Times of London, CNN and Fox News were widely criticized for repeating Zionist propaganda and ignoring the massacres and genocide against the Palestinians.

Perhaps one of the most prominent reasons that explain the cause of this immoral bias is the influence and control of Zionism and its followers over the West’s most important media edifices.

While the crimes of aggression committed by the Zionist enemy are justified under the pretext of the “right to self-defense,” there is not even a word of protest against the killing of more than 132, Palestinian journalist in the ongoing and devastating aggression against Gaza, which turned it into rubble.
