Palestinian women on eve of International Women's Day...Unparalleled suffering in whole world
[Thu, 07 Mar 2024 21:39:10 +0300]

SANA'A March 07. 2024 (Saba) -The world remembers tomorrow, Friday, International Women's Day, which falls on the eighth of March of each year, in light of the increasing victims of the Zionist-American aggression among Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip, and the great suffering experienced by the women of the Gaza Strip, which is unparalleled in the whole world and throughout all history.

In this context... The Deputy Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Algeria, Bashir Abu Al-Hatab, said in a speech on the occasion of the demonstration, which carried the slogan "Palestinian women are the icon of struggle": "Palestinian women are essential partners in the struggle work and resistance to the Zionist enemy alongside the Palestinian man."

He stressed its main and important role in maintaining the spirit of resistance, despite the oppression and abuse it is subjected to at the hands of the Zionist enemy forces.

He added: "The suffering of Palestinian women has intensified, especially in the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the Zionist aggression on it, which has been going on for more than five months, as they suffer from what no woman in the world has suffered."

He continued: "Palestinian women live in very difficult conditions, giving birth on the side of the road and being denied water and medicine, in one of the most heinous crimes committed in all history."

He pointed out that "the Palestinian people are subjected to a war of genocide that affects 2.13 million Palestinians, and Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip receive the largest share of this dangerous aggression and pay a high price, as they are subjected to various violations and in brutal ways."

"On the other hand... The world is unable to force the Zionist enemy to stop its massacres, despite the decisions of the International Court of Justice and hundreds of UN resolutions."

Today, Thursday, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics published a report in which it reviewed the situation of Palestinian women, on the eve of International Women's Day, and revealed the extent of the suffering suffered by Palestinian women since the start of the Zionist aggression on the seventh of last October.

The Palestinian report confirms that nine thousand females have been martyred since the beginning of the Zionist-American aggression on the Gaza Strip, out of a total number of 30,717 martyrs, since the beginning of the aggression.

The report shows that 75 per cent of the 72,156 wounded were female, with women and children accounting for 70 per cent of the 7,000 missing. He pointed out that females constitute 49% of the total population in Palestine, reaching 2.76 million females in mid-2024 (1.63 million females in the West Bank and 1.13 million females in Gaza Strip).

With regard to the occupied West Bank, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported that there are four Palestinian women who have been martyred, out of a total of 423 martyrs in the West Bank since the seventh of last October.

The report also pointed out that during the past year, 300 women from the West Bank have been arrested, including 200 since the start of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.

At the level of the occupied city of Jerusalem, the enemy arrested 165 women, 84 of them during the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, the report stressed that at the level of the Gaza Strip, there are no accurate data available in light of the crime of enforced disappearance that the Zionist enemy continues to carry out against Gaza prisons.

The data of the Palestinian Commission for Prisoners' Affairs indicates that the enemy is still arresting 56 female detainees in its prisons, 44 from the West Bank, three from the Gaza Strip, and nine female detainees from the occupied 48 territories, including five female detainees who have been sentenced, 40 female detainees who are under arrest, and 11 female detainees under administrative detention. Among the female detainees in enemy prisons, there are two minors.

Health data in the Gaza Strip confirm that there are many challenges facing pregnant women, as there are about 60,000 pregnant women in the Strip, with an average of 180 births per day.

About 15 per cent of these women are likely to suffer complications of pregnancy and childbirth that are difficult to treat due to lack of medical care, and the number of premature births in women has increased by almost a third due to factors such as stress and trauma, and some have miscarried out of fear, resulting in a 300 per cent increase in abortions.

The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club revealed in a joint statement that the Zionist enemy prisons administration announced at the end of last November that there were 260 female detainees from the Gaza Strip who were classified as resistance.

Juzoor Association for Citizens' Rights says that the world celebrates on the eighth of March the International Women's Day with the aim of emphasizing the advancement of their conditions and ensuring their rights, foremost of which is equality, justice and the right to a decent life.

The human rights association adds: At a time when women in many countries of the world suffer from a decline in ensuring their rights, we find that Palestinian women, despite all the slogans adopted by the countries that claimed and still claim to be working to ensure women's rights globally, but because of the Zionist colonial occupation, they have been suffering for decades from deprivation of enjoying freedom under an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Institutions concerned with the affairs of Palestinian prisoners stressed on Thursday that this year is the bloodiest against Palestinian women throughout the history of the years of the Zionist occupation, in light of the comprehensive aggression and genocide that has been ongoing in Gaza since the seventh of October, in addition to the war crimes and grave violations they have been subjected to, most notably field executions, systematic arrests, and the accompanying horrific violations, including sexual assaults.

The prisoners' institutions also affirm that the enemy continues to violate the rights of Palestinian women prisoners in detention and interrogation centers, prisons, hospitals, medical clinics, checkpoints and checkpoints, and that these violations affect all categories of Palestinian females, including teachers, students, mothers, children and others.

The prisoners' institutions recommend that the United Nations and all member states pressure the enemy entity to respect and abide by international law and international human rights law, and to implement the Convention against Torture and Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

The Washington Post published an article by writer Karen Atya in which she said: "The brunette lady Kamala Harris, Vice President Joe Biden, should not be the beautiful face of the ugly US policy in the Gaza Strip, as the Biden administration has used brown women as velvet gloves and iron fists, whenever it comes to the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip, in which more than 30,000 Palestinians were martyred, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza."

In her speech, Harris acknowledged the tragedy of Gaza, a misfortune in this when she said: "We have seen reports of families eating herbs or animal feed, women giving birth to undernourished babies without any medical attention, children dying of malnutrition. It demanded an immediate ceasefire, at least in the holy month of Ramadan, and demanded the release of prisoners and the usurping entity's authority to allow humanitarian supplies into Gaza.

It is worth mentioning that on International Women's Day, the whole world must realize with certainty that the will of the Palestinian mother and woman will not be broken by the intransigence of the fascist Zionist enemy and its persistence in committing more massacres and the war of genocide against innocent and unarmed civilians.
