CAPITALS January 30. 2024 (Saba) - After the International Court of Justice issued a clear decision binding the Zionist enemy to an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, its decision was immediately met with widespread Arab and international welcome.
In this context, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine denounced what it described as “the reluctance of the International Court of Justice to issue a clear decision binding the Zionist enemy to an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.”
The movement said in a statement: “It believes that despite the temporary measure announced by the International Court of Justice in the decisions it issued, which demand the cessation of all actions that lead to killing, these decisions did not live up to the level of demanding a cessation of killing and aggression to protect the Palestinian people from Continuing genocide.
In turn, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, welcomed the decision in which it was proven that the Zionist enemy entity was accused of committing genocide and demanded that it protect civilians and lift the siege on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the movement called on international community to oblige the enemy to implement the court’s decisions, stop the ongoing crime of genocide against the Palestinian people, and force the enemy to respect its duties as an occupying force within the framework of international humanitarian law.
Hamas confirmed that it looks forward to the final decisions of the court convicting the Zionist enemy of committing the crime of “genocide,” war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
Hamas appreciated the position of the State of South Africa, its support for the Palestinian people, the justice of their cause, and its endeavor to end the aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the temporary measures ordered by the International Court of Justice to prevent further acts of genocide committed by the Zionist enemy entity.
In turn, the Arab Parliament welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice, and its demand to take a number of immediate temporary measures aimed at providing protection for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Arab Parliament asked how to implement any temporary measures without a ceasefire, pointing out that “the International Court of Justice should have issued a decision for an immediate ceasefire and described what the occupation is doing as a crime of genocide.”
Many Arab and Islamic countries, including Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Pakistan, Turkey, and other countries, welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice aimed at stopping any practices and statements aimed at genocide against the Palestinian people.
These countries expressed full support for what was issued by the International Court of Justice and categorical rejection of the practices of the Zionist enemy and violations of the United Nations Convention on Genocide.
The Arab and Islamic countries praised the efforts of the Republic of South Africa to file a lawsuit against the continuing violations of the Zionist enemy in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of the international community taking further measures to cease fire.
Internationally, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, confirmed that the decision issued by the International Court of Justice in the genocide case filed by South Africa against the Zionist entity is binding on all parties.
Guterres pointed out, according to a statement by the United Nations Information Office, that “the court’s decision required the Zionist entity to take all measures with regard to the Palestinians in Gaza to prevent the commission of acts covered by Article II of the Genocide Convention.”
Guterres stressed that the court's decisions obligate the Zionist entity to immediately ensure that "its forces do not commit any of these acts," referring to the court's affirmation that "all parties in the Gaza Strip are bound by international humanitarian law."
Earlier, the current presidency of the UN Security Council announced that the Council would meet on Wednesday to consider the “International Justice” resolution, which called on the Zionist entity to prevent any possible act of “genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
In turn, the European Union confirmed that it expects a “full and immediate” implementation of the International Court of Justice’s decision in which it ordered the Zionist enemy entity to take measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza.
A joint statement by European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and the European Commission said: “The decisions of the International Court of Justice are binding on the parties and they must abide by it.”
For its part, Spain welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice, which ordered the Zionist entity to take measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez wrote in a post on the X platform: “We welcome the decision of the International Court of Justice and request the implementation of the provisional measures it issued.”
For her part, South African Foreign Minister Naledi Bendor appreciated the decision of the International Court of Justice, which called on the Zionist entity to take immediate steps to protect Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
She added: The Zionist entity is an occupying entity that manages the affairs of Palestine, and should provide the basic services that the West Bank and Gaza Strip need.
She pointed out that "all members of the United Nations have legal tools that they can use to protect civilians, South Africa had to do what possible to protect hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and not stand by and watch."
It is noteworthy that the International Court of Justice held two public hearings in The Hague on the 11th and 12th of this month as part of the start of consideration of the lawsuit filed by South Africa against the Zionist entity for committing genocide crimes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
