The Pentagon said in press statements on Saturday: The pace of attacks against the American army in Iraq and Syria has increased significantly in the last three weeks, by 45 percent.
In the latest targeting of the American occupation forces, the Iraqi resistance announced today, according to Al-Mayadeen, the targeting of the two American occupation bases, “Koniko” and “Green Village,” deep in Syria, by drones from inside Iraqi territory.
Yesterday, Friday, the Iraqi resistance targeted the American “Ain al-Assad” base, in the west of the country, with drones, and the military media published a video clip documenting the moments of launching a drone towards American base near Erbil Airport, in northern Iraq, a day after a similar targeting.
The Iraqi resistance continues to target a large number of American bases in Iraq and Syria, with concerns emerging about the presence of American forces in these two countries, as expressed by The American Conservative magazine, stressing that American forces are risking their lives “unnecessarily” due to political paralysis , and lack of political courage.
In an article entitled (Our National Shame in Iraq and Syria), the American magazine stressed that these forces are present in Iraq and Syria as part of a “self-destructive combat operation.”
The Iraqi resistance targeted American bases in Syria and Iraq dozens of times, using rocket-propelled grenades, drones, and short-range ballistic missiles.
It declared clearly that it considers the American bases in Syria and Iraq a legitimate target, because of the Americans’ main role in the war on Gaza.
A few days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy stated that Moscow possesses information that American forces are preparing to withdraw from Iraq.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed to Al-Mayadeen that America is redeploying its forces in Syria due to the ongoing Iraqi resistance operations in light of the American-Zionist aggression against Gaza.
As a result of the heroic operations of the Iraqi resistance, America asked the Iraqi government to hold talks to arrange the situation of its forces, while the Iraqi resistance confirmed that the request “is nothing but an attempt to shuffle the cards, turn the tables on the resistance, and buy time to carry out more crimes and diabolical plans.”
The Iraqi resistance said, in a statement: The American request “would not have occurred without the strikes of the resistance and the blessings of martyrs' blood ,” noting that this proves that the American “does not understand anything other than force language.”
Today, the first round of bilateral dialogue between Iraq and America began, to end the mission of the international coalition in Iraq. The Sudanese media office stated in a statement, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani sponsored the launch of the first round of bilateral dialogue between Iraq and the United States of America to end the mission the international coalition in Iraq."
In this context, the Palestinian writer Abdel Bari Atwan said in an article today, Saturday, in Al-Rai newspaper: “Finally, the United States of America has yielded to the demands of the Iraqi Islamic resistance to withdraw immediately , quickly and abandon all of its military bases in Iraq, thanks primarily to the attacks of the resistance.” Which targeted these bases in Erbil, Al-Shaddadi, and Ain Al-Assad, in addition to their counterparts in Syria, such as Al-Omar, Kiniko, and Al-Tanf fields... and others.”
Atwan believed that it is true that the number of American forces in Iraq does not exceed 2,500 soldiers, but their withdrawal constitutes a major defeat for America and its influence in the Middle East region after its humiliating defeat in Afghanistan.
He stressed that America, which spent about six trillion dollars in its war on Iraq, in addition to 4,487 killed and 32,000 wounded, will face an end that it never expected at all, and so quickly, and we do not believe that its embassy, which occupies a large part of the Green Zone in Baghdad, and is considered the largest in the world, will last long , partially or completely, after the decline of the American presence.
He stressed that America has no choice but to withdraw its forces from Iraq, and that US President Joe Biden, who was one of the most prominent drummers of the war on Iraq, will be lucky if this “humiliating” withdrawal is smooth , not chaotic and shameful similar to the withdrawal from Kabul.
Atwan said: “The only language that the American leadership can understand is the language of force, and it seems that the Iraqi resistance has decided to use it extensively, after the Iraqi governments failed in all their diplomatic attempts to implement the Parliament’s decision to dismantle , expel all American military bases on the soil of Iraq and end this presence that "It contradicts the most basic principles of national sovereignty."
The Palestinian writer also stressed that the great Iraq is making a strong return to its leadership position in the Middle East and the Arab world, and this return will clearly culminate in the elimination of the colonial presence on its land.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that it had been agreed with the United States to set a gradual timetable for the evacuation of the “advisers” of the international coalition from Iraqi territory, and to end this alliance.
It is noteworthy that the American administration was evading Iraqi demands for withdrawal, and stipulated that all attacks targeting its military bases be stopped before entering into any negotiations in this regard, but the escalation of resistance attacks on these bases with missiles , suicide drones, and the increasing losses among its soldiers, prompted it to drop the condition.
American media outlets, including Al-Monitor website and Foreign Policy magazine, published intersecting leaks that spoke of an imminent withdrawal of American forces from Syria, which was discussed during a meeting of the National Security Council at the White House on January 18.
That comes at the request of the Pentagon to form an “Interagency Policy Committee (IPC), which includes representatives of the State Department and the CIA, to discuss the feasibility of the American presence, and the best way to end it as well... which is what the leaks considered “very soon.”
In an inventory conducted by “Baghdad Today,” since October 17 until now, the Iraqi resistance factions have carried out more than 150 attacks, and the last announced number of casualties recorded among Americans was 70 Americans, according to the Pentagon’s admission, which seems to have begun to be cautious regarding the number of casualties.
On the other hand, since November 21, 2023 until now, American forces have carried out only six attacks, which led to the killing of ten Iraqis and the injury of more than 25 people.
The Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement announced in a statement today, Saturday, that it will continue its military operations in the region, in response to American-Zionist aggression against people in Gaza Strip.
The movement said in its statement: The resistance possesses “an integrated vision of the American presence in all its forms,” a clear vision of Iraq’s independence and its liberation from American dependency.
It added: Even if the resistance completes the expulsion of the occupier militarily, “it is not absent from its influence and dominance in the joints of the state.”
It is worth noting that the American forces in the Middle East region are facing growing threats that increased in severity with the start of the blessed “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle and the Zionist enemy, with American support, launched a barbaric aggression against the Gaza Strip, where American bases in Syria and Iraq were subjected to dozens of attacks, so America has no choice but to withdrawing its forces from Iraq and Syria.
