TEHRAN Jan 23. 2024 (Saba) - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani confirmed on Tuesday that his forces are monitoring all developments in the region and the world.
Tasnim International News Agency quoted Brigadier General Ashtiani at the ceremony of joining a large number of strategic combat, reconnaissance, destructive and radar marches to the Iranian army, saying: One of the most important duties of the Ministry of Defense is to equip and arm the armed forces to defend the country: The inclusion of these drones will have a major impact on the combat power of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He added: We always monitor all developments in the region and the world, and new and updated technologies in the world are reviewed and studied and adapted to the needs of the armed forces to be localized and produced to defend the country and confront land, air, sea and space threats.
He continued, saying: We assure the people that we will use all our strength and efforts to defend the homeland, increase deterrence power, and improve the combat power of the armed forces.
Today, a joining ceremony was held for a large number of combat, reconnaissance, destructive, and strategic radar drones designed and produced by the Ministry of Defense and in cooperation with the Iranian Army, in the presence of Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Commander-in-Chief of the Army, and Brigadier General Muhammad Reza Ashtiani, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support.
In this ceremony, the multi-purpose strategic drones “Ababil 4” and “Ababil 5” were included in the combat organization of the Iranian army, which have the ability to carry out various reconnaissance, surveillance, electronic warfare missions, and collect information by intercepting signals.
The "Arash" and "Power" drones, which have the ability to carry out specific, long-range, destructive missions, have also been included in the Iranian army's combat organization.
The modernized drones are equipped with self-protection systems, electronic warfare systems, and smart weapons aimed at hitting a target, and have special and modern capabilities in joint use with other weapon systems and network-based operations.
