NEW YORK November 20. 2023 (Saba) - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has affirmed that the number of civilian deaths (martyrs) in Gaza is shocking and unacceptable, reiterating his call for an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the number of martyrs of the Zionist-American aggression against Gaza had risen to 12,415 and the number of wounded to about 32,500 wounded, since the beginning of the aggression on the seventh of last October.
The Ministry explained, in its daily report on the aggression, that it is facing great difficulties in obtaining updated data for the seventh day in a row, due to the interruption of communications services in the Gaza Strip, and the collapse of service and communications in hospitals in the northern Strip.
It indicated that the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip, as of Saturday evening , reached more than 12,300 martyrs, including about 5,000 children, 3,250 women, and 690 elderly people, while the number of injured reached more than 29,500 injured.
Displaced people from the north reported the presence of corpses in the streets, and as of November 15, more than 4,000 citizens are still missing, including 2,000 children.
205 health personnel and 36 civil defense personnel were martyred, along with more than 215 wounded health workers. More than 60 ambulances were attacked, 55 of which were damaged and put out of service.
The Ministry indicated that 26 of 35 hospitals in Gaza, and 52 of 72 primary health care clinics, or more than two-thirds, stopped working due to damage caused by bombing or lack of fuel, and the remaining nine hospitals are operating partially.
