SANA'A September 29. 2023 (Saba) - Participants in the First Scientific Humanitarian Conference on Burn Surgery, which concluded on Friday in Sanaa, recommended the necessity of establishing a national center to treat burn patients.
Participants in the conference, which was organized by the Sana'a Republican General Hospital Authority, stressed the importance of the national center having modern international specifications and equipment through which the center will be able to receive all burn cases and disasters.
The participants’ recommendations called for the necessity of establishing a special fund for treating burn patients. Most patients are from poor and low-income groups, in light of the high costs of treating burns.
In its recommendations, the conference called on charitable institutions and businessmen to actively contribute to establishing a center specialized in the treatment and rehabilitation of burn patients in order to achieve better results in terms of treatment and rehabilitation indicators.
He also called on official and private bodies to support the qualification of a staff specialized in treating burn patients of all types, stressing the importance of scientific and academic communication and continuing scientific research.
In their recommendations, the participants called for activating the media role in spreading awareness about quickly treating burn cases in a way that ensures awareness reaches all segments of society.
In two days, the conference discussed scientific and humanitarian working papers to establish a national center specializing in burn surgery, and the relationship of medical specialties such as cosmetics, eyes, brain, nerves, and other specialties to burns.
