SANA'A September 20. 2023 (Saba) - The anniversary of the birth of the Messenger, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, in Yemen has a specificity that distinguishes it from other religious occasions, as the atmosphere is spiritual, and celebrations are held in homes and neighborhoods, and the sounds of prayers for the Prophet and the praises sung for him are loud in all the streets decorated with green lights.
In Sana'a Province, the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday receives great official and popular attention, and is characterized year after year by early preparations. This year, on the eleventh of Safar, the first steps of preparations began with an expanded meeting of the local council, the executive office, and the concerned authorities, during which the broad outlines for celebrating the Great Messenger were drawn up.
The meeting represented a starting point and a central station for determining the tasks of the mobilization committees for the occasion at the province, district and village levels, and the tasks assigned to the executive offices and their role in organizing Mawlid celebrations, in a manner befitting the greatness of the Holy Prophet, as a practical program was drawn up and launched at the province level on the nineteenth of the month of Safar. A central event attended by Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, his deputy for defense and security affairs, a number of ministers, members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, and social figures in the province.
Events and activities continued in the governorate at the level of district centres, districts, villages and schools, witnessing daily morning and evening educational awareness evenings and seminars to celebrate the birth of the Messenger of Mercy and Humanity.
The activities, which covered all the villages of the governorate in the plains, mountains, countryside and urban areas, proceeded and are proceeding according to basic specifications and a period of time, arriving at the central celebration, where the activities aimed, through lectures, seminar topics, and selected expressions in street media, to introduce the person of the Messenger of God, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and explaining God’s success to the Yemenis, and demonstrating their loyalty and connection to him, as well as highlighting the greatness of the Messenger’s morals and the nation’s need to follow him.
Celebrating God’s blessing upon humanity, showing reverence for the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, spreading his biography, loyalty to him, and strengthening the connection to him and the Qur’an in the position of followers of the divine message and the saints of God, was the main goal of the people of Sana’a Province on this occasion.
In the same vein, the decoration works for streets, alleys, homes, and means of transportation constituted an important aspect and a wonderful manifestation of the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet of Mercy.
The celebration was not limited to events, seminars, lectures, and decorations only, but the aspect of social solidarity was present by identifying the needy, poor, and poorest families, inspecting their conditions, and preparing to send convoys of the Great Messenger to help them, alleviate their suffering, and bring joy to the souls of their members.
The events and activities of the celebrations commemorating the birth of the Messenger of God take on various manifestations and images in various directorates, during which citizens present forms of popular and cultural heritage in dancing, dancing, and various chants in the morning, and poems, chants, and songs during the evenings, and dhikr circles held in councils and mosques.
All sectors come together to love the Holy Prophet, and compete to highlight that love through events and activities that vary from contributing to the preparation and organization of events, seminars, lectures and others.
Regarding the implications of commemorating this occasion, Governor Abdel Baset Al-Hadi stressed that the official and popular movement indicates the responsibility and awareness of the government and the people and that everyone in one trench forms a team that loves God and embodies the true embodiment of belonging to the Messenger of God Muhammad, may God’s prayers be upon him and his family, for a strong response to those arrogant tyrants those who insulted the religion of God and His Messenger.
He considered that celebrating the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth is a station to learn lessons from the life and biography of the Messenger, and to learn about his morals and the values and principles that he carried, pointing to the need of the Yemeni people to return to the principles, morals, values and dignity established by the Messenger of God Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, the savior and caretaker of the Islamic nation , with the testimony of God Almighty in his Noble Book.
While the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani, confirmed that the Yemeni people are proud today to celebrate this occasion among the peoples, and they embody the authenticity of their Ansar ancestors who supported the Messenger Muhammad, may the best prayers and peace be upon him and his family, since the dawn of Islam.
He explained that the various cultural events and seminars organized by official and unofficial institutions and bodies embody the greatness and importance of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth and its connotations, so that the faith identity and the correct Muhammadan approach are firmly established in the minds and consciences of generations, which protects them from the false cultures of the enemies of the Islamic religion and those who claim to belong to Arabism and Islam from the leaders of the aggression coalition regimes.
For his part, the first deputy governor of the province, Hamid Assem, confirmed that this year’s celebration of the Prophet’s birthday is characterized by everyone’s high keenness to embody the love of the greatest Messenger, pointing to what the province is witnessing through the active and large presence in various events at the level of the province center, districts and villages.
He pointed out that Yemen, as it celebrates the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth, has become a living model for Islamic peoples in demonstrating the greatness and importance of the occasion as it is linked to the greatness of the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, stressing that showing love for the Prophet and rejoicing over his birth represents a clear message to the enemies that the people of Yemen are committed to God and His Noble Messenger. They will not allow abuse and violation of Islamic sanctities.
In turn, the director of the governorate’s education office, Hadi Ammar, considered celebrating this occasion an opportunity to express glorification and reverence for the Messenger of God, his respect and victory, and to emphasize steadfastness in the face of the forces of global arrogance, and the Yemeni people’s adherence to the path of the Chosen One, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family.
He stressed the importance of enhancing awareness of the necessity of celebrating the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth, to draw inspiration from the life of the Prophet in a way that strengthens the faith identity of the Islamic nation, praising the role of the people of the governorate, their honorable presence, and their active participation in all religious and national events.
Many pictures show the people of Sana’a Governorate celebrating the birth of the best of God’s creation, and fulfilling God’s commands in that regard, as the Almighty Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate."
