SANA'A August 13. 2023 (Saba)-An agreement was signed today at the Presidency House in the capital, Sana'a, to implement the national strategy to localize the milk and its derivatives industry with the owners of the milk ,its derivatives manufacturing companies, and the milk-producing associations.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - Minister of Finance Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, Ministers of Local Administration Ali Al-Qaisi, Ministers of Industry and Trade Muhammad Al-Mutahhar, Agriculture and Irrigation Eng. Abdul-Malik Al-Thawr, and officials of milk manufacturers ,its derivatives, and milk-producing associations.
After signing, the President affirmed that the agreement aims to achieve self-sufficiency in milk ,its derivatives and to cover the local market with product instead of importing from abroad.
He pointed out that the localization of the milk industry and its derivatives is one of the basic strategies of the state that will provide many job opportunities, it is reliable to implement it and meet the local market’s need for this substance within a year or two as a maximum.
President Al-Mashat expressed his happiness with this positive step, which will contribute to encouraging farmers in raising livestock, including cows, sheep, and manufacturers to expand in this aspect.
