TEHRAN July 25. 2023 (Saba) - The Navy of the Army and the Revolutionary Guards in Iran received on Tuesday Abu Mahdi cruise missile.
Tasnim International News Agency stated that the ceremony of joining "Abu Mahdi" cruise missile to the naval units of the army and the Revolutionary Guards held Tuesday.
"Abu Mahdi" cruise missile is one of the aerospace products of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support in Iran. It has a range of more than 1,000 kilometers and can destroy any target. Thus, the range of the naval defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran has doubled compared to what it was in the past and can cover a wide range of operations.
It is noteworthy that the use of explosives with high destructive power in the warhead of the "Abu Mahdi" missile gave this missile the ability to destroy all types of battleships, frigates and destroyers.
"Abu Mahdi" missile can be launched from all types of fixed and moving parts, and its guidance and navigation system is able to update the final position of the target during flight.
"Abu Mahdi" missile has the ability to fly at a low altitude and under the range of the enemy's radar, and it can change its trajectory and height according to the geographical complexities and the enemy's defense systems.
This missile is considered the first long-range naval cruise missile that uses artificial intelligence in programs related to designing the missile’s flight path in the command and control system. It has the ability to pass through natural and artificial obstacles, as well as the enemy’s radar and air defense sites, and hits the target from different directions.
"Abu Mahdi" missile is also the first long-range Iranian naval cruise missile that uses a radar seeker. This technology, in addition to confronting the enemy's electronic warfare systems, increases the concealment of the missile when it approaches the target, so that it can attack it like a ghost without being noticed by the enemy, and deprives the enemy of the opportunity to respond in a timely manner.
