SANA'A June 07. 2023 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah sent congratulatory letters to the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Slovenia on the occasion of the election of the United Nations General Assembly of their countries to non-permanent membership in the Security Council for the period 2024-2026 m.
In the letters, the Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed confidence in those States' diplomacy and experience in multilateral relations that will serve to preserve the foundations and objectives for which the United Nations was founded, the most important of which is respect for the rule of law and States, peaceful resolution of conflicts and consensus on a satisfactory solution that will establish lasting peace throughout the world.
The Republic of Yemen values and appreciates the position of those States that reject the military aggression and the comprehensive blockade of Yemen and support efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement. Pointed out that the Government of National Salvation in Sana'a is eager for peace rather than war.
