HODEIDA June 05. 2023 (Saba) - The two sites for the rehabilitation of the sea gate at the fishing port and the construction of a water tank in Al-Tuhaita were handed over today, in Al-Hodeida province, at a cost of 262 million and 202 thousand riyals, with the support of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Finance Unit.
During the handover to the executing authorities, the First Undersecretary of the province, Ahmed Al-Bishri, stressed the importance of adhering to the technical specifications for the implementation of the two projects, according to the approved studies.
While the director of the unit, Yahya Al-Wadaei, explained that the cost of the project to rehabilitate the marine gate at the fishing port amounts to 237 million riyals, by removing sediments in the fish pond, which caused the partial closure of the gate.
He pointed out that the project of constructing the tower water reservoir in Al-Faza area of Al-Tuhaita district, at a cost of 25 million and 202 thousand riyals, and with a capacity of 50 cubic meters, comes within the framework of efforts to serve farmers’ fields and support agricultural activity.
In addition, the Director of the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance in the province, Eng. Zaid Al-Murtada the Unit for Financing Agricultural Projects and Initiatives, was briefed on the work done in installing solar systems, irrigation networks and pumps of the water tank, as well as afforestation works aimed at combating desertification and restoring life to farms that were destroyed by the aggression.
