OCCUPIED AL-QUDS June 05. 2023 (Saba)- Last night, five maqdisi families emptied their houses in the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood in the town of Silwan, in preparation for demolishing them and evacuating the land for the benefit of the "Municipality of the Zionist enemy."
The Palestinian Ma'an Agency reported that the families of Al-Taweel, Nassar, and Burqan began unloading the contents of their houses, "five houses in two residential buildings," dismantling windows and doors, and removing all furniture and contents.
The families explained that the Supreme Court decided at the end of last year to demolish the houses and vacate the land under the pretext of "public interest", noting that the houses had existed for many years, 2001 and 2016, and imposed financial violations, and frozen demolition decisions in an attempt to obtain a building permit.
The families indicated that the municipality demanded that they carry out the demolition with their own hands, otherwise its mechanisms will do so, and they must pay the "demolition fee" to the municipality and its accompanying crews.
