SANA'A March 22. 2023 (Saba) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on Wednesday a new list of upper ceilings for the prices of food commodities, which included a reduction in the prices of a number of basic commodities in accordance with global price variables.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Muhammad Sharaf al-Mutahhar, told Saba, that the ministry announced a new list of upper ceilings for the prices of basic and consumer food commodities on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
He stressed the merchants' commitment to the new price list, which set the upper ceilings for the prices of basic commodities and consumption. Pointing out that this list is specific to the month of Ramadan and takes into account the conditions of citizens in this month, it does not affect the merchants and was carried out according to studies of the input costs.
The Minister of Industry stated that there is a commitment from a large segment of merchants to what is circulated and announced by the ministry, calling on merchants to adhere to the new list.
He stressed that the field teams will be present in the field to arrest the violators, urging merchants and importers to adhere to the list prices so that the ministry does not have to take legal procedures.
