SA'ADA March 17. 2023 (Saba)- A number of directorates of Sa'ada province witnessed the implementation of 24 community initiatives in agricultural irrigation under the auspices of the local authority in the province, including a water project, a dam and a barrier, some of which are nearing completion.
The cost of the initiatives amounted to over one billion five hundred million riyals.
The percentages of participants were distributed as follows: the percentage of community participation is 67%, the percentage of the emergency intervention unit at the Ministry of Finance is more than 27%, and the contribution of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office, with engineering supervision and financial intervention, is more than 5%.
The director of the Agriculture Office in Sa'ada, Eng. Zakaria Al-Mutawakel, explained that the office and the executive unit for financing agricultural projects and initiatives contributed about 7%, in addition to the study, design, supervision and implementation of all water facilities.
While the director of community initiatives in the province, Abdulghani Al-Razhi, appreciated the community's great efforts in community initiatives that express the importance of community support and solidarity.
He pointed out that there are a number of dams and barriers under construction, and some of them are about to be completed.
For his part, the coordinator of the Bonyan Development Foundation in the province, Saad Khalil, drew attention to the participation and efforts of the Bonyan Foundation in training development riders in more than seven districts in the province, for 353 development riders.
He noted the role of the Knights of Development in moving community initiatives and motivating the community towards initiatives with the support of the local authority and the Emergency Intervention Unit.
