SANA'A, July. 22 (Saba) - The Interior Ministry spokesman, Brigadier General Abdulkhaliq al-Ajri, confirmed that the security services arrested terrorist elements in the village of Khobza in the Qayfah district of Bayda province after criminal operations were carried out against security points of the Ministry of the Interior.

General Al-Ajri said in a statement on Thursday, received by Saba that these elements belong to the so-called al-Qa'idah organization and have sought to exploit an armed conflict between two members of the village of Khobza because of a dispute over land and previous vendettas, to attack security sites in and around the village of Khobza, carry out a number of criminal operations and claim that the people of the area carried out such operations.

"At 3 a.m. on Tuesday, a group of takfirs in the Khobza area at the date of 20-12-1443 AH attacked the site and the security post near the entrance to the Khobza area, resulting in the killing of a security officer and the injuring of five others."

The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior denied the videos and clips circulated by entities supporting takfiri, which said were for the security personnel.

Stressing that it is concocted and prepared in advance, with the aim of distorting the security personnel who know the Yemeni people in general, and the people of Bayda province in particular greatly defended the lives and property of citizens and sacrificed them in order to free the people of the governorate from the influence of the takfiri groups that were committing the most heinous crimes against them.

He applauded the role played by the people of Qayfah and Al-Qurayshiyah in countering those plans and thanked and appreciated the attitude of the leaders and the people of the Khobza area in particular, who had faced the blueprint of the takfiri gangs working with aggression to detonate the situation within the free zones.
