SANAA, Aug. 30 (Saba) - A meeting at the General Organization for the Preservation of the Historic Cities of Yemen (GOPHCY) discussed practical measures to implement the directions of the President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat regarding the restoration of historical buildings affected by rain and torrents.

The meeting, which gathered Acting Chairman of the Authority Eng. Mujahid Tamesh, Authority's Vice-chairman Amat al-Razzaq Jahhaf,  representative of the National Committee for UNESCO Dr. Ahmed al-Rabaie,, and representative of the Charitable Society of Hayel Saeed Anam Group Mujeeb al-Fatesh, touched on the damages to historical buildings in the old city of Sanaa and the historic city of Zabid in Hodeidah.

The Authority's Vice-chairman reviewed the primary statistics and data of the number of damaged houses and their classifications between total demolition and partial collapse.

Al-Fatesh expressed the willingness of the Hayel Saeed Group Charitable Society to cooperate with the authority in the restoration of some houses after studying them and determining the priorities according to a joint operational work mechanism in coordination with the National Committee for UNESCO.
