SANAA, March 17 (Saba) – On March 26, 2015, Saudi Arabia and its coalition allies launched a military campaign against the poorest country in the Arab world backed by the U.S. , launched a large-scale attack on Yemen under the pretext of reinstating ousted former president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi without prior warning and with promises that the war would last no longer than a few weeks.
However, after five years of a war that has sparked the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and is backed by the collective military might of the world’s most powerful nations, the Saudi Coalition has been unable to defeat the Houthis, nor to restore the popularly-ousted Abdrabbuh.
The war’s real purpose was to defeat the Houthi Ansar Allah movement, which gained popular support following the Arab Spring and has grown even more powerful since the Saudi war began.
The Yemenis make activities of the National Steadfastness Day, and the passage of five years of Saudi-led coalition’s aggression on Yemen, a local official told Saba.
The Yemeni people said "as much as the 26th day of March, 2015, was a bad day for Yemen, it also became a great day referring to the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in confronting the aggression coalition."
Pompeo released a statement last year in which he said the Houthis could not win in Yemen .
The Yemenis will continue fighting to the end and [we] will never give in. We will defeat the enemy.”
The Yemenis will win the war against the Saudi-led Coalition regardless of how much support the U.S. gives them.
as well as, the tribes praised great triumphs achieved by the Yemeni army in deterring the Saudi-led aggression coalition and its mercenaries in the all fronts.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening resilience in the face of aggression and the challenges it imposed, calling on everyone to participate in the convoy of steadfastness and contribute actively to the fronts with all the precious.
No justification for this aggression, they noting that Yemen has suffered due to the aggression and blockade more than Syria, Iraq, Libya and the rest of the Arab countries, given the number of the countries taking part in the aggression coalition, the kind of siege, and the committed crimes.
They said that the Yemeni people possesses a strong will and hardness since ancient times, and that is the reason behind its steadfastness in this legendary manner.
The continuation the project of the martyr Saleh Al-Sammad, one hand protect and another hand build, we stress that Yemen did not and will not surrender.
We also stress the rejection of the US decision to recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights.
The Yemenis stressed on the importance of strengthening the internal front and supporting the Yemeni army with fighters and food convoy to defending the homeland and its sovereignty, and urged the concerted efforts to mark five anniversary of steadfastness in confronting the aggression on Yemen.
The Yemeni people are ready for peace, and at the same time also in high readiness for war if the coalition countries want to continue their aggression.
The world is currently aware of what it means the steadfastness and patience of the Yemeni people and the tremendous sacrifices they have made over five years.
“Fifth years of aggression — We are steadfast for the sixth year — We will win , We are ready to make more sacrifices against the Saudi-led Coalition.”
