Tele Yemen Company: 20Gb of ambulance solution for internet outages
[12/January/2020]

SANAA, Jan. 12 (Saba) - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said on Sunday that the 20Gb link has been restored as an ambulance solution for internet outages until the repair of the cut-off submarine cable is completed.

Emergency solutions have been taken during the past 48 hours, as part of the efforts of Tele Yemen in Sana'a to provide internet, the ministry said in a statement received by Saba.

Yemen International Telecommunications Company (Tele Yemen) confirmed in a statement that work is under way and at a high pace to repair the international submarine cable (Falcon) by the owner company (GCX).

The company that owns the international submarine cable was weighing the cable's failure due to a ship anchor, and it needed several days to complete the repair.

The company expressed its deep regret to all internet users for this outage beyond its control, noting that any updates on the repair of the submarine cable will be announced as first-hand.
