Yemeni trainees to attend Beirut Journalist Course


SANA'A, Dec. 10 (Saba) – Yemeni trainees will fly to Beirut next Saturday for a regional training course for Arab journalists and human rights reporters.

Some 30 participants from 11 Arab countries are expected at the training which would be organized by the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information in association with the Middle East Initiative.

A statement by the network said they will receive training in human rights international laws, human rights protection system, the role of web campaigning to promote human rights and freedom of expression, measures for information freedom, freedom of opinion under Arab laws, legal risks and responsibilities of journalists in the Arab World, recording and its applications to serve the digital defense and child, women and refugee rights.

The course will be the first stage of a regional program on human rights, freedom of expression and approval skills, the statement said, adding the second phase will focus on the condition of participants, the development of human rights promotion programs and freedom of expression.

The programs should then be posted on websites and forums, with a panel to be set up to evaluate and review them to select best ten.
