Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Da’is, inaugurated today in Sana’a the Second Engineering Creativity and Innovation Exhibition at the College of Engineering, University of Science and Technology.
The Deputy Minister, accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Houri; Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fouad Abdul Razzaq; and University President, Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas, toured the sections and contents of the two-day exhibition. They viewed models of creative and innovative works and designs produced by students from various departments and engineering specializations.
Dean of the College, Dr. Adnan Al-Mutawakkil, explained that the exhibition comes within the college’s ongoing efforts to foster a spirit of creativity and innovation among students, and to provide an opportunity to present their creative and innovative projects to relevant authorities for adoption and support.
The visitors praised the students’ creativity and innovations, which emerged from resilience in the face of the aggression that has targeted minds and educational institutions since its first day. They stressed the importance of such projects and creative works in helping address economic challenges.
The University President affirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting and developing such creative projects, transforming them into tangible initiatives that serve and develop the community. He announced the university’s support for three projects to be implemented on the ground, as well as the recruitment of three outstanding graduates behind innovative projects at the college, enabling them to translate their creativity and innovations into the university’s educational process.
