River Plate missed the chance to take sole control of the Argentine Primera Division when they were held to a goalless draw by hosts Independiente on Sunday in the fourth round of Group B matches.
In the remaining matches, Belgrano defeated Banfield 2-1, and Atletico Tucumán drew 0-0 with Rosario Central.
River Plate earned one point, bringing their tally to eight points from two wins and two draws, reclaiming the lead over San Lorenzo on goal difference. Independiente, meanwhile, is second from bottom with two points.
