Al-Rahwi attends preparatory meeting in Capital to launch Prophet’s Birth anniversary events

Sana’a - Saba:
Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi participated on Sunday in an expanded preparatory meeting organized by the Capital Secretariat to launch the events and activities marking the 1447 AH anniversary of the Prophet’s birth, held under the slogan: “But the Messenger and those who believed with him fought with their wealth and their lives; for them are the good things, and it is they who will be successful.”

The Prime Minister stressed the significance of the inaugural event as part of the broader celebrations honoring the final Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad bin Abdullah—peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and companions—describing him as a role model, leader, and teacher.

Al-Rahwi considered the commemoration of the Prophet’s birth one of the most important and noble occasions celebrated by the Yemeni people and the Islamic nation as a whole, emphasizing the need to embody the Prophet’s qualities of courage, truthfulness, honesty, loyalty, and, and to strive for all that benefits Yemen and the Muslim Ummah.

He said: “We must follow the example of the Messenger of Humanity, known throughout history as a brave, generous fighter who devoted his life to the well-being of Islam and Muslims, guiding them toward righteousness and all that benefits them in this life and the hereafter.”

He urged Yemenis to invite their families, neighbors, and acquaintances to participate in the commemoration on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal, noting its importance amid the current weakness and estrangement from faith and the lofty values brought by the Prophet.

The Prime Minister criticized false and misleading celebrations alien to the nation, noting that many people, despite indulging in such frivolous events, view celebrating the birth of the Seal of the Messengers as an innovation. He stressed that commemorating the Prophet’s birth—an event that brought humanity from darkness to light—deserves far more attention, adherence to his guidance, and commitment to his divine message.

Al-Rahwi concluded by congratulating the Revolution Leader , Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, on the upcoming anniversary, praying for his success, victory for Gaza, freedom and independence for Palestine, mercy for the martyrs, and swift recovery for the wounded.

For his part, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, stated that Allah honored all humanity with the birth of the best of creation, Muhammad—peace , blessings be upon him and his family. He described the anniversary as a great blessing that Muslims must celebrate, speak about, and take pride in, noting that Yemenis have adhered to the Prophet’s guidance and revered him since the dawn of Islam.

The Mufti explained that celebrating the Prophet’s birth is a celebration of his morals and values, as well as an expression of reverence for him and his noble message. He emphasized that Allah elevated the Prophet’s status in the Qur’an, and thus people should also honor him. He called for true emulation of the Prophet in word and deed, stressing the importance of genuine allegiance to Allah, His Messenger, the leaders of guidance, and warned against hypocrites seeking to undermine Yemen’s unity and its support for Gaza and the Palestinian people.

He urged widespread participation in the anniversary’s events, as such celebrations anger the enemies of Islam, and highlighted the importance of charity, solidarity, compassion, and caring for the poor and needy during this blessed occasion.

The event was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dhaifullah Rassam, and Advisor to the President of the Supreme Political Council, Ambassador Abdul-Ilah Hajar.

In their speeches, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, and First Undersecretary of the Secretariat, Khaled al-Madani, stressed the importance of Yemenis showcasing their love for the Prophet whose mention Allah Himself has exalted. They described the celebrations as a manifestation of love, loyalty, and deep connection to the Prophet.

They emphasized the vital role of scholars, preachers, intellectuals, educators, community leaders, tribal sheikhs, mobilization officials, and neighborhood leaders in raising awareness of the significance and meaning of the anniversary.

They noted that this year’s celebrations come amid the ongoing Zionist-American aggression, which is committing massacres, genocide, and systematic starvation against the people of Gaza in full view of the world. They expressed pride in the wisdom and courage of Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi , in the Yemeni people’s steadfast support for Gaza , Palestine amid widespread Arab and Islamic silence.

Obad and al-Madani called for heightened vigilance and readiness to confront any attempts to undermine Yemen’s security, stressing the need to make the occasion a chance to strengthen unity and stand firm against global tyranny and its agents. They also announced the start of anniversary activities, including charity work, public awareness campaigns urging participation in “Al-Aqsa Flood” training courses, as well as service projects, street cleaning, and neighborhood decorations in celebration of the event.
