Ramallah - Saba:
The residents of the Arab al-Jahalin Bedouin community in Ein Ayoub, northwest of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, appealed to the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the free people of the world to support them and strengthen their steadfastness in the face of settler attempts to displace them from their land.
The Palestinian SAFA News Agency quoted Abdullah al-Jahalin, a resident of the community, as saying that they appeal to the Palestinian people in the West Bank and those in solidarity with them to be constantly present and strongly support them to thwart the settlers' plans to displace them.
Al-Jahalin added that they are suffering from the presence of a settlement outpost, the construction of a bypass road leading to it, and the repeated threats directed at them to leave.
He explained that they have lived in the community for 40 years and that it is home to 19 families, comprising 130 people, including 80 children. Settlers attacked the community yesterday and burned their tents, causing extensive property damage.
Hassan Malihat, general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Targeted Villages, described the situation in the community in a statement. In light of the families' preparations for forced displacement, residents are feeling sad and anxious. Men have begun dismantling their homes, while women are gathering what remains of their families' belongings. Children watch the place where they grew up, fearing an uncertain future, as they pack their belongings and prepare to leave the area for an unknown destination.
He stated that the Israeli occupation authorities are turning a blind eye to these violations, providing them with legal and political cover. This demonstrates that the systematic campaign aims to displace the Jahalin Arabs to make way for the expansion of settlements and link them within a broader settlement project to control the central West Bank. According to data, settlers carried out 466 attacks against citizens and their property in the West Bank last July, resulting in the deaths of four citizens and the forced displacement of two Bedouin communities consisting of 50 families.
