Sana'a – Saba:
The Director General of Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakeel Al-Barashi, checked on Monday on the health condition of four traffic police officers who are receiving treatment after being injured while performing their national and humanitarian duty at Naqeel Bani Salama on the Hodeidah-Dhamar road.
The officers were injured due to a sudden rock collapse as they dealt with a trailer slipping accident.
Dr. Al-Barashi, accompanied by the Traffic Directors of Dhamar Governorate, Colonel Ahmed Shaaban, and Financial Affairs, Colonel Majid Salman, listened to doctors’ explanations about the level of medical care provided to the injured and the stability of their health conditions.
The Director General of Traffic Police praised the sense of responsibility and dedication of the traffic officers, who risked their lives while performing their duty to secure the road and handle the trailer accident, despite the dangerous location and unexpected rock collapses that resulted in the injury of four officers.
He described their heroic stance as a reflection of the essence of traffic work, which is based on sacrifice and service to the people, embodying the faith-based and humanitarian values upheld by traffic police personnel.
"These are men whom dangers did not deter from performing their duty. They were at the forefront, protecting people and securing the road despite being fully aware of the risks," he said. He emphasized that the incident proves that a traffic officer is not merely an employee performing administrative tasks but a field soldier who bears the burden and sacrifices for the sake of others.
Dr. Al-Barashi confirmed that the injured officers would be officially honored in a manner befitting their sacrifices and noble humanitarian stance. He expressed the pride of the Ministry of Interior and Traffic Police leadership in the sacrifices made by the officers in carrying out their duty without hesitation, despite the rugged terrain and the gravity of the situation.
Additionally, the Director General of Traffic Police inspected the traffic patrols damaged by the rock collapse and directed the technical teams at the General Traffic Department to prepare a comprehensive technical report on the losses and damages sustained by traffic vehicles and equipment. He also ordered the provision of replacements to ensure the continuity of field operations.
