A tribal reconciliation sponsored by Supreme Political Council member Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi resolved on Monday a murder case between the Al-Haddad family from Haraz in Manakha District, Sana'a Province, and the Al-Kahlani family from Hajjah Province.
The incident dates back to October 2015.
The reconciliation, attended by several members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, Assistant Defense Minister for Human Resources Major General Ali Mohammed Al-Kahlani, and Sana'a Governorate Deputy Abdullah Al-Abyad, was mediated by a committee comprising Sheikhs Abdulmajid Al-Hakim, Amin Ali Jumaan, Khaled Qasim, Hanin Qatineh, Mabkhout Al-Jameemah, Saleh Al-Suhaili, and Military Intelligence Chief Major General Abdullah Al-Hakim.
During the proceedings, the guardians of the victim, Mohammed Mohsen Al-Haddad, pardoned the accused, Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Kahlani, for the sake of God and in honor of the attendees.
Major General Al-Kahlani praised the Al-Haddad family’s gracious pardon, in response to the call of Revolution Leader Sayyid Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi for social reconciliation and the resolution of vendettas and community disputes.
"We came today to the tribes of Haraz as arbitrators, seeking satisfaction for the Al-Haddad family in this case. We found in the victim’s guardians and the tribes of Haraz nobility and loyalty when they met us with forgiveness, embodying the authenticity of Yemeni tribes and preserving national unity and internal cohesion," he said.
Al-Kahlani expressed gratitude to the Harazi tribes for their generosity and pardon, describing it as a noble and shining moment that will remain a defining mark of their honorable stance. He also commended the mediation committee’s efforts in reaching a final resolution to the case, closing it permanently in a manner satisfactory to all.
Sheikh Amin Jumaan, head of the mediation committee, and its members honored the decision of the victim’s guardians and ratified it, praising the Al-Haddad family’s pardon as a step toward national unity, bloodshed prevention, and compliance with the Revolution Leader’s call for reconciliation.
Sheikh Jumaan affirmed that resolving the case reflects the revolutionary and political leadership’s commitment to ending grudges, hatred, and vendettas among Yemeni tribes, families, and regions, thereby strengthening solidarity in facing the enemy that has targeted Yemen’s land and people for over a decade.
Attending sheikhs also praised the Al-Haddad family’s role in pardoning the accused and ending the case, thwarting strife and denying the enemy—seeking to destabilize the internal front—any opportunity to undermine national cohesion and disrupt the schemes of the American-Zionist enemy and their regional tools.
