A young Palestinian man from the Gaza Strip died on Thursday due to malnutrition and starvation amid the dire humanitarian conditions in the besieged enclave.
According to the Sond News Agency, family sources reported the death of Karam Khaled Al-Jamal, 26, from Gaza, as a result of severe malnutrition. Al-Jamal had pre-existing health complications and required a special diet, which had been unavailable for months.
The sources explained that Al-Jamal suffered from paralysis and muscle weakness, necessitating specialized nutrition that he had been deprived of due to the ongoing Israeli blockade. The lack of proper food led to a rapid deterioration in his health, ultimately resulting in his death.
Earlier on Thursday, medical sources reported the death of another young man, Adel Fawzi Madi, at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, also due to starvation and malnutrition caused by the prolonged Israeli siege.
On Wednesday, Gaza’s Health Ministry stressed that "all desperate attempts to deny the reality of famine are exposed by the rising numbers of patients in emergency rooms and the increasing death toll—outcomes we have long warned about."
The ministry reiterated calls for urgent international intervention to prevent further starvation-related deaths in Gaza.
