Sana'a – Saba:
Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i chaired a meeting on Tuesday with the head and members of the Labor Committee to review discussions on labor and social affairs issues, as well as the insurance rights of state employees, in line with the Parliament Presidency’s decision.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed a technical report prepared by a team from the committee’s office and the Parliament’s General Secretariat, outlining detailed measures to address insurance-related issues and ensure the legal rights of state employees.

In a related context, the Services Committee, headed by Engineer Ali Al-Kaboudi, held a meeting today, attended by Deputy Speaker Abdulrahman Al-Juma’i. The committee heard from the Minister of Transport and Public Works, the head of the Road Maintenance Fund, the head of the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges, and the director of the Rural Roads Program regarding the implementation of policies and activities assigned to the ministry and its affiliated entities under the government’s general program and Parliament recommendations.

Following extensive discussions, the committee granted the government additional time to submit official responses and supporting documents.

Meanwhile, the Media, Culture, and Tourism Committee and the Health and Environment Committee held a joint meeting chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Harib, head of the Health Committee, with the participation of Media Committee Rapporteur Mohammed Al-Junaid and Water and Environment Committee member Adnan Shami. The meeting focused on Parliament’s recommendations regarding the government’s Change and Building Program.

The session approved sending letters to the Ministries of Information and Health concerning joint recommendations on health awareness campaigns through media and social platforms. Additionally, letters will be sent to the Ministries of Electricity, Energy, and Water regarding recommendations to curb illegal well-digging and groundwater depletion, as well as urgent measures to reduce water, sanitation, and electricity bills. The meeting also stressed the need for relevant ministers to attend follow-up discussions.

Similarly, the Development, Oil, and Mineral Resources Committee, headed by Mohammed Sawar, reviewed data on the implementation of the government program concerning the Ministry of Oil and Minerals. Committee members raised observations on the ministry’s plans within available resources.

Additionally, the Education Committee, chaired by member Nashwan Al-Subari and attended by Finance Committee Rapporteur Mohammed Al-Bakri and member Abdu Radman, along with the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, assessed the ministry’s performance in implementing Parliament’s recommendations. The committee requested a detailed report on textbook distribution mechanisms, solutions for volunteer teachers, and salary disbursement procedures.

On another note, the Trade and Industry Committee, headed by Qasim Al-Hadha, discussed the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment’s progress in implementing Parliament’s recommendations, including the status of the textile factory’s rehabilitation and the utilization of loans granted to the Public Institution for Spinning and Weaving Industries.
