Rome – Saba:
Italian club Roma announced on Wednesday the signing of Irish international footballer Ivan Ferguson, the Brighton striker, on a one-season loan with an option to buy. This is the Giallorossi's second signing of the summer.
The Italian capital club said in a statement on its website: "Roma is delighted to announce the signing of Ivan Ferguson from Brighton & Hove Albion. The deal ends on loan with an option to buy."
Ferguson, 20, began his career with Bohemian, then joined Brighton in 2021 to play in the English Premier League. In January 2025, he moved on loan to West Ham.
Ferguson, the first Irish player to play for Roma, scored 13 goals in 68 Premier League appearances and five goals in 22 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
The young Irish striker, who will wear the number 11 shirt for the Giallorossi, is Roma's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Moroccan Nael Younes El Aynaoui from French club Lens.
