Tulkarm – SABA
The Israeli occupation forces significantly escalated their demolition and bulldozing operations on Monday, targeting dozens of homes and residential structures in their ongoing assault on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camp for the 169th consecutive day, and on Nur Shams Camp for the 156th day, in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, heavy Israeli bulldozers continued demolition work in Tulkarm Camp at an accelerated pace this morning, targeting additional residential buildings. This is part of a new plan to demolish 104 buildings comprising approximately 400 housing units, continuing a wave of demolitions that in recent days has struck multiple neighborhoods—particularly Al-Murabba’a, Abu Al-Foul, and Al-Shuhada’—leaving thousands of families homeless.
Eyewitness accounts documented Israeli soldiers occupying the rooftops of Palestinian homes in the camp after forcibly evicting residents, watching the demolitions unfold below.
Last week, Israeli authorities had publicly declared their intention to carry out widespread demolition orders in the camp, defying a prior Israeli Supreme Court decision to freeze those orders.
Meanwhile, Nur Shams Camp is experiencing a parallel escalation marked by a tight siege and deliberate arson, with Israeli forces setting fire to homes, especially in the Jabal Al-Nasr area.
This sustained escalation has resulted in the forcible displacement of over 5,000 families—more than 25,000 Palestinian residents—and the total destruction of over 600 homes, with an additional 2,573 homes partially damaged. Israeli forces continue to blockade the entrances to both camps with earth mounds and barriers, effectively turning them into ghost zones. Residents are prohibited from entering or inspecting their properties, with live fire targeting anyone approaching the area.
In parallel, Israeli forces have deployed additional military reinforcements into Tulkarm city, which is now seeing constant movement of occupation military vehicles, especially in neighborhoods, the central market, near Martyr Thabet Thabet Hospital, and along Nablus Street. Soldiers are reportedly intentionally obstructing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, sounding sirens provocatively, and driving against traffic flow, putting civilians at risk.
So far, the continued Israeli assault has killed 14 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured or arrested, and widespread destruction has affected infrastructure, homes, businesses, and vehicles.
