The Zionist newspaper Maariv revealed on Tuesday that the three soldiers declared dead by the enemy army in Jabalia yesterday were killed inside a Merkava Mark 4 tank, which is considered “the best and most powerful tank in the world in terms of protection.”
The Israeli enemy army had announced yesterday the deaths of soldier Shoham Menahem, soldier Shlomo Sharam, and soldier Yuli Faktor from the 52nd Armored Battalion during battles in northern Gaza Strip.
According to Maariv's military correspondent, Avi Ashkenazi, the army had not determined as of Tuesday morning whether the tank was hit by an anti-tank missile or if an explosive device detonated beneath it.
The newspaper stated: “The best and most protected tank in the world sustained a significant blow on Monday in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, and it is still unknown whether it was struck by a missile or a hand grenade.”
Maariv further reported that the army is now bogged down in the Gaza quagmire, and its leadership fears presenting the facts to the political level.
