Hodeida - Saba:
The Local Foundation for Water and Sanitation in Hodeida province organized a speech event on Monday commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), under the slogan "Far from us is humiliation."
During the event, the province’s Deputy for Services Affairs, Mohammed Halisi, stated that reviving the memory of Ashura serves as an educational milestone to re-inspire the meanings of dignity, truth, and justice—principles established by Imam Hussein through his eternal revolution against deviation and tyranny.
He emphasized that Imam Hussein’s stance represents an enduring school for all free people in facing challenges, noting that Yemenis—living under aggression and siege—are among the peoples who best understand and embody the principles of Hussein in their daily lives.
Halisi explained that Ashura is not merely a passing memory but a lasting consciousness and unwavering loyalty, reflected in the commitment of state employees to perform their duties responsibly and their determination to persevere despite challenges.
For his part, the Foundation’s Director-General, Engineer Abdulrahman Ishaq, highlighted that the martyrdom of Imam Hussein marked a historical turning point for the nation, stressing that the message carried by Hussein inspires us today with values of patience and steadfastness in the face of crises.
He noted that the employees of the Water Foundation bear a great responsibility in serving citizens and, inspired by Hussein’s path, continue to perform their duties under difficult circumstances, reflecting their adherence to the values of pride and dignity.
Ishaq affirmed that the memory of Karbala renews the spirit of sacrifice and responsibility in hearts, praising the efforts of the Foundation’s staff, who embody the truest meanings of dedication to people’s needs and fundamental causes.
In a speech by religious scholars, Mohammed Al-Wafi stated that Imam Hussein rose to restore the Ummah’s consciousness and faith, asserting that anyone who carries the cause of reform and confronts corruption and injustice follows his path. He emphasized that silence in the face of oppressors is a betrayal contrary to the essence of the Karbala revolution.
He stressed that today’s duty is to link Ashura with contemporary issues of the Ummah, foremost the Palestinian cause, which faces the same tyranny and crimes witnessed in Karbala. He called for continued emotional and spiritual mobilization based on sincere loyalty to Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
