Salfit – SABA:
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office revealed on Friday that the Israeli occupation authorities have released 11 students from the town of Deir Istiya, north of Salfit, who had been arrested at dawn on Thursday. All were high school seniors preparing for their Tawjihi (final secondary school exams).
According to the statement, the release occurred only after the scheduled exam session had ended, thereby depriving the students of their right to take the test. The office condemned this move as part of a deliberate Israeli policy aimed at denying Palestinian students their right to education and sabotaging their academic future.
The statement also noted that in recent weeks, the Israeli occupation has intensified its targeting of students, especially during final exam periods, as part of a wider campaign of violations affecting all sectors of Palestinian society.
This incident reflects the ongoing collective punishment policy pursued by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians, including nighttime raids, arbitrary arrests, and escalating pressure in cities and towns across the occupied West Bank, aiming to instill fear and suppress resistance.
