New York - Saba:
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed on Thursday evening that thousands of children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from acute malnutrition due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and the shortage of essential supplies.
The organization explained that the severe lack of fuel and clean water is hindering its ability to provide life-saving food assistance and healthcare for children in the region, warning that the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate dangerously.
UNICEF added that the ongoing restrictions on the entry of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and fuel, are threatening children's lives and making it increasingly difficult to access basic services.
It pointed out that the current conditions could lead to a widespread health catastrophe unless immediate action is taken.
The organization called for the lifting of the blockade and the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, stressing that children in Gaza are facing one of the worst food crises in the world.
