Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday that "the world has reached a turning point, and no one knows what will happen tomorrow."
In a speech marking the anniversary of the liberation of Minsk from the German invasion during World War II, Lukashenko added: "Today, millions of our people celebrate the most important holiday in our beloved homeland on a wonderful summer morning, united and reverent. From the fields of Minsk, we look fearlessly at a peaceful blue sky. Most Belarusians consider the holiday to mean peace."
He added that the example of our heroic ancestors demonstrates that we must fight for the future, saying: "A person can and must always stand up against evil, no matter how powerful and powerful it is."
