Inauguration of eight courtrooms in Taiz judicial complex
[Thu, 03 Jul 2025 17:16:09 +0300]

Taiz - Saba:
Minister of Justice Judge Mujahid Ahmed, Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority Judge Dr. Marwan Al-Mahqari, and Taiz Governor’s Acting Official Ahmed Al-Masawi inaugurated on Thursday a project comprising eight courtrooms in the judicial complex of the province.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Ministry of Justice's Financial Affairs Official Judge Ahmed Al-Kahlani and the Appeals Court Chief Judge Fawaz Al-Maqtari. The Minister of Justice described the opening of the eight courtrooms as a significant addition to the infrastructure of model courts, providing a suitable environment for judicial proceedings in fully equipped and modern facilities.

He praised the support of the local authority and the Ministry of Administrative Development through the Central Emergency Interventions Unit for their efforts in backing the judiciary, including the completion of this project to enhance security and ensure prompt justice. This reflects the state’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting rights and freedoms.

For his part, Judge Al-Mahqari commended the efforts of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in outfitting the courtrooms to a high standard, embodying the vision of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, and the Supreme Judicial Council in developing the judicial work environment.

He urged the judges of the appellate and primary courts to cooperate with the newly launched branches of the Judicial Inspection Authority in Hodeida and Ibb, emphasizing their responsibility to deliver justice to the oppressed.

The Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority noted that several decisions are being prepared to establish appellate and commercial circuits, as well as to expand and redistribute primary courts in Taiz, similar to what has been done in the capital Sana’a and Hodeida. This aims to meet justice requirements in line with population density and geographical needs, accelerating case resolution.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor Al-Masawi expressed gratitude for the judiciary’s efforts in completing this project, which marks a qualitative leap in judicial services.

He pointed to the attacks and destruction suffered by judicial facilities by aggression forces, considering the establishment of these fully equipped courtrooms a step forward in reconstruction and community service.

In turn, Appeals Court Chief Judge Al-Maqtari appreciated the visit of the Minister of Justice and the Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority to inaugurate the project, which includes eight courtrooms for the Taiz Appeals Court and its affiliated primary courts. The project provides office equipment, technical devices, surveillance systems, and display screens for the courtrooms.

He reviewed the volume of incoming cases, progress levels, challenges, and ways to address them.
