Dr. Munir al-Barsh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, warned on Tuesday of a dangerous escalation in meningitis cases, with 337 cases recorded since the beginning of the crisis, including 259 viral cases, amid deteriorating health and living conditions.
Dr. al-Barsh explained in a statement that the lack of clean water and personal hygiene supplies, and severe overcrowding in shelters, increase the chances of disease and epidemics spreading, amid the collapse of the health system due to the blockade and the systematic Israeli destruction of medical facilities.
