Occupied al-Quds – Saba:
Al-Quds governorate on Tuesday called for urgent international intervention to stop the eviction orders issued by the Zionist enemy authorities in the town of Silwan, south of al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement issued, the governorate also called for holding accountable the parties involved in implementing displacement policies, supporting Palestinian families legally and on the ground, and rejecting discriminatory Zionist laws used as a tool for settlement expansion, according to the official Palestinian News Agency.
The Governorate emphasized that the eviction orders issued against Palestinian families in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood are a blatant example of the policy of Judaizing al-Quds and require urgent international action to protect Palestinian citizens from forced displacement and preserve the city's national and historical identity.
Al-Quds governorate urged all local, Arab, and international media outlets to shed light on this issue with high professionalism and national responsibility, through live field coverage, highlighting the voices of affected residents, and hosting experts in al-Quds affairs and international law to clarify the dimensions of these violations to the public.
It reported that eviction orders have been executed against 16 families so far, and that nine families are still awaiting a decision on their appeals. The Zionist settler organization Ateret Cohanim has also opened centers inside seized homes, in flagrant violation of international law.
On Monday, the Israeli Supreme Court issued a decision rejecting the al-Rahbi family's appeal and ordered their eviction from their three-apartment building in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan, south of al-Aqsa Mosque. The building houses 16 individuals, in favor of the settler organization.
This decision was preceded by a decision on June 16, 2025, rejecting the petition of Odeh and Shuweiki families, ordering their eviction from their homes in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan, in favor of the settler organization. The decision threatens 19 individuals with forced eviction.
