Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhayti inspected the Acute Watery Diarrhea Treatment Center at Dhamar General Hospital where he was briefed by health officials on medical services provided, availability of IV fluids, and urgent needs.
Al-Bukhayti stressed the importance of providing necessary medicines and sterilization supplies while activating peripheral health facilities to reduce pressure on the main treatment center.
The governor called for raising community awareness about prevention methods for acute watery diarrhea including cholera and praised the medical staff's efforts in patient care and reducing disease complications.
For his part, Health Office Director Dr Tariq Al-Khaywani explained that infection causes include drinking contaminated water and consuming unclean food particularly in areas lacking proper sanitation and personal hygiene practices
