Al-Quds – Saba:
An investigation conducted by the Israeli enemy army revealed its failure to protect the settlement of "Bri Gan" in southern Israel. Two military units refused to enter the settlement, the settlement did not have an effective readiness team, and the army took no action in this regard.
The investigation, the results of which were published Thursday, and which is one of the most disturbing reports in the ongoing review of the events of October 7, 2023, revealed that two Israeli army units—"Nahal" Reconnaissance Battalion and the "Caracal" Battalion—refused to confront the Palestinian resistance fighters who stormed the settlement, according to Quds Press.
According to the investigation led by Zionist Brigadier General Itamar Ben Haim, the Israeli enemy army failed to defend "Bri Gan," and four Israeli security personnel were killed in the clashes, including a police officer and three members of the "Shlomit" security readiness team.
The investigation revealed that only ten Hamas members infiltrated by vehicle and on foot, targeting the Brigade and surrounding military installations.
According to the investigation, the attack began at 6:29 a.m. with heavy rocket fire from the Gaza Strip toward settlements in the western Negev.
It indicated that at 6:41 a.m., after the red sirens sounded, the commander of the Gaza Division declared a state of war. The 934th Battalion of Nahal Brigade, known as Kerem Shalom Combat Battalion, was responsible for the Strip.
However, it was quickly defeated despite its numerical superiority. The battalion commander and his platoon commander were killed in the initial clash with Hamas fighters.
Nearby, at Sufa base, located two kilometers from Brigade, Israeli enemy soldiers were surrounded after a direct attack on the base. Many were trapped in the mess hall. The IDF command headquarters in the area were also damaged.
The Hebrew newspaper, The Jerusalem Post, said: "This incident adds to the growing list of operational failures by the army on that day, raising questions about operational preparedness, command protocols, and coordination between units."
Previous investigations conducted by the Israeli enemy army concluded that there was a "total failure" to prevent the attack on the Gaza Strip settlements.
