Al-Quds – Saba:
Israeli enemy authorities transferred six Freedom Flotilla activists who were aboard the Madeleine to Ben Gurion Airport, in preparation for their deportation to their countries.
Adalah Legal Center for Human Rights in Israel said on Thursday: "After more than 72 hours of detention following the interception of the Freedom Flotilla ship attempting to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip last Sunday night, six volunteers will be deported today."
The center indicated that the six volunteers are: Mark van Rijns (Netherlands), Swap Ordu (Turkey), Yasmin Ajer (Germany), Thiago Avila (Brazil), Riva Viard (France), and Rima Hassan (France).
The center stated that the activists' defense team reported that they continue to face obstacles in visiting the activists before the deportation.
Adalah reported that two of the volunteers, Pascal Moreras and Yanis Mohammadi (both from France), remain detained in Givon Prison in Ramle, under the supervision of the Israeli Prison Service. They are expected to be deported tomorrow evening, Friday, and Adalah team will visit them later.
According to the testimonies, the activists were subjected to ill-treatment and punitive and aggressive measures during their detention. Two of them were placed in solitary confinement for a period of time. This treatment was protested to the Israeli authorities, and repeated official communications demanded its cessation.
Adalah emphasized that the continued detention and forced deportation of the activists "is illegal and constitutes part of Israel's ongoing violations of international law," while renewing its demand for the immediate release of all activists, whether to resume their humanitarian mission to Gaza amid the ongoing genocide, or to return to their countries.
