Gaza – Saba:
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Wednesday mourned the death of liberated prisoner Raeq Abdulrahman Basharat, who was "treacherously assassinated" by the Zionist "Yamam" Special Unit at dawn in the town of Tamoun in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, on Wednesday, the PFLP described Basharat as an "example of steadfastness and giving," noting his struggle since the 1987 Intifada.
The statement highlighted a 2002 assassination attempt where his wife was martyred and his hands amputated, and his subsequent battle of empty stomachs against administrative detention. The PFLP asserted that neither his wounds nor detention deterred him from his duty until his martyrdom.
The Front extended condolences to the Islamic Jihad Movement and the martyr's family, affirming that the ongoing crimes of the occupation will not deter our people from continuing on the path of resistance, and will only increase their determination and adherence to their rights and the pure blood of the martyrs.
