Tunis - Saba:
The Steadfastness Convoy to Break the Siege on the Gaza Strip, which departed from the Tunisian capital on Monday, entered Libyan territory before heading to Egypt.
The Steadfastness Convoy, organized by the Joint Action for Palestine Coordination Committee, departed Monday morning from Mohammed V Avenue in downtown Tunis.
The convoy arrived late Monday evening in the city of Ben Guerdane in southern Tunisia, its last point in Tunisia before entering Libyan territory via the Ras Jedir border crossing.
The convoy organizers emphasized that it is not carrying aid or donations, but rather its goal is to participate in the global movement to break the siege on Gaza.
This first-of-its-kind humanitarian land convoy includes dozens of buses and cars, carrying more than 1,500 people from Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania. Others will join it from Libya. Participants in the convoy will raise Palestinian flags.
The convoy headed to several Tunisian governorates to gather the remaining participants, starting with Sousse, then Sfax, Gabes, and finally Medenine, specifically the Ras Jedir border crossing with Libya, before entering Libyan territory at dawn today. The convoy will travel through Libya via Tripoli, Misrata, Sirte, Benghazi, and Tobruk, before entering the Egyptian Salloum crossing on the 12th of this month, arriving in Cairo, and then the Rafah crossing on the 15th of the same month.
