Ramallah - Saba:

The Palestinian Ministry of Education announced that 16,382 students have been martyred and 23,532 injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

The Ministry of Education clarified in a statement on Tuesday that the number of students martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression has reached more than 16,245, and 25,959 injured.

The number of student martyrs in the West Bank reached 137 students, while 897 others were injured, in addition to 749 arrested, according to the statement.

The Ministry of Education indicated that 917 teachers and administrators were martyred, 4,347 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 196 were arrested in the West Bank.

Regarding attacks on educational institutions, the Ministry indicated that 443 government schools, universities, and their buildings, as well as 91 UNRWA schools, were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip. Sixty university buildings were completely destroyed, and 20 educational institutions sustained severe damage.

In the West Bank, 152 schools and eight universities were stormed and vandalized.

For the second year in a row, high school students in the Gaza Strip are being prevented from sitting their exams due to the ongoing genocide.

The Ministry noted that six UNRWA schools in al-Quds have remained closed since May 8, by Israeli decision.

In its statement, the Ministry also addressed the suspension of classes in schools in Nablus due to the ongoing incursion by enemy forces since last night and the deployment of enemy forces in the city's neighborhoods.
